I am a seasoned water and wastewater treatment process engineer with more than 36 years of experience in process and equipment design, operations optimization and troubleshooting, operator training, and regulatory affairs.
My projects have addressed a wide range of processes, including biological treatment, physical/chemical treatment, membrane systems, sludge and residuals handling and disposal, effluent recycle and reuse, and permitting and regulatory compliance support.
I have experience in the pulp and paper, plywood and dimensional lumber, petrochemicals, electronic materials, consulting services and municipal wastewater industries. During my tenure at Kimberly-Clark, I coordinated water and wastewater treatment design and process improvements for more than 55 facilities in 23 countries. I also coordinated the corporate water use reduction program, which has eliminated more than 10 billion gallons of fresh water usage to date.
I recently retired and have launched my own industrial water and wastewater consulting firm, McKinnon Engineering LLC, where I will provide the same high quality services to clients around the world. For more details, please see my Web site at www.McKinnonEngineering.com.
