GLENN HANSON was born, raised & lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for 41 yrs., spent 17 yrs. in GA & has now returned to his home inside the Cheddar Curtain. Unfortunately, his parents have passed but he still enjoys spending time with his two older sisters. Kilns are in Glenn's blood with his father one of the original developers, patent holders and sales lead for the Allis-Chalmers Grate Kiln System. He would become more intimate with kilns starting part time & then full time at the Allis-Chalmers Process Research & Test Center.
Glenn is currently in Pyro Technical Sales Support for Metso Outotec in the North & Central Americas Region. As such, Glenn provides technical support for aftermarket parts & services on rotary equipment in Pyro applications. He received a B.S. degree in Environmental Science from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay in 1986, Glenn has worked over 30 years with a focus on lime recovery kiln systems in kraft pulp mills. He is co-holder of a US Patent and continues R&D work on lime recovery kiln applications.
Glenn coordinates the annual TAPPI KilnCon Workshops & Seminars, has authored/co-authored numerous papers and presentations for TAPPI technical meetings and conferences, was editor & contributor to the TAPPI Lime Kiln & Recausticizing textbook and serves on the TAPPI KROS faculty & Lime Kiln/Recaust Subcommittee A 25+ year TAPPI Member, he has also served on various Local Section Executive Committees, is Past-Chairman of Gulf Coast TAPPI & recipient of the 2017 TAPPI Paul Magnabosco Award.
Glenn is a dedicated and active fan of Wisconsin sports teams including the NBA World Champion Milwaukee Bucks, Milwaukee Brewers & of course the Green Bay Packers & is an NFL Owner. He enjoys biking, TV & movies, working around the house & spending time with friends & family.
