Thanh is currently the VP of Technology with FITNIR Analyzers Inc. He received his education from University of British Columbia, specializing in analytical chemistry and Spectroscopy. He joined the Pulp and Paper Research Institute of Canada in 1993 and eventually took on the role as a Senior Research Scientist and Group Leader in Sensing Development. His pioneering efforts in advanced vibrational spectroscopy, including Fourier-transform Near Infrared and Raman spectroscopy have led to numerous US and International Patents. He has co-authored chapters in the Handbook of Applied Spectroscopy and co-editor of the Journal of NIRS. Currently, his focus is on the application of online measurements and control for pulp and paper operations. He is an active member of TAPPI, PAPTAC, Applied Spectroscopy Society, and Near Infrared Society.
