I am currently a junior at NC State University, double majoring in Chemical Engineering and Paper Science Engineering, and am expected to graduate in may 2024! I am currently the secretary of our student TAPPI chapter here at NCSU. I came down here for the PSE & CHE program, but also the warmth and proximity to beaches- I grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, about 15 minutes outside of the city. My family still lives there and I love travelling back home to visit with my parents, brother, and little cousins! Volleyball and snow skiing are my passions outside of academics- I am a city girl at heart but love escaping to the mountains when I can! This past summer, I interned as a process engineer in the pulp processes department of the Georgia Pacific Muskogee, OK mill and am returning to GP this summer, but as a part of the paper CSC group in their corporate office in Atlanta. For the past year and a half, and counting, I have worked as an undergraduate researcher on multiple projects- that spanned concepts from new sustainable packaging options, carbon reduction and climate technology.
