  • TAPPICon 2024 Call for Papers is Open

    Advanced Coating Symposium also seeking papers

    TAPPICon, the leading technical conference for the paper, packaging, and tissue industry, is currently conducting its Call for Papers for the 2024 event.

    TAPPICon provides a unique platform for industry professionals, researchers, innovators and thought leaders to come together and exchange cutting-edge insights, best practices, and emerging trends. With a focus on driving innovation, sustainability, and excellence in the industry, TAPPICon serves as a key destination for professionals seeking to advance their careers and stay ahead in a rapidly evolving landscape. The 2024 Conference is being held in Cleveland, OH, April 28 – May 1, 2024.

    Subject matter experts and visionaries interested in speaking at this premier event should submit an abstract to TAPPI’s Speaker Management System by November 10, 2023.

    Abstracts are sought for topics within the following eight program tracks:

    • Coating, Printing and Surface Enhancements
    • Papermaking Additives
    • Papermaking Fundamentals
    • Papermaking Technology and Operations
    • PIMA Management
    • Process Control
    • Recycled Paperboard
    • Tissue

    16th Advanced Coating Symposium (ACS)

    Preceding TAPPICon 2024, the 16th Advanced Coating Symposium will be held on April 27 – 28, 2024 in Cleveland, Ohio.  This Symposium is a unique platform dedicated to coating and surface treatment advancements within the pulp and paper industry. Abstracts are now being accepting for presentation at the Symposium. The deadline for ACS 2024 abstract submissions is November 11, 2023. Abstracts should be submitted to TAPPI’s Speaker Management System.

    Abstracts are sought on topics within the following areas:

    • Advanced understanding of paper requirements (including surface characterization)
    • Advanced understanding of paper & board coating processes and structures
    • Sustainability: Advances at the forefront

  • Who Do You Think Deserves Our Industry’s Highest Honors?

    TAPPI is seeking nominations for its most prestigious awards that will be presented in 2024. Nominees should be individuals who distinguish themselves with significant industry contributions. Nominations are due by August 1 of each year for the award to be presented the following calendar year.

    Nominations are currently being accepted for:

    ·       Gunnar Nicholson Gold Medal Award - the highest honor that TAPPI can bestow upon an individual and is granted to those who have made preeminent scientific and engineering achievements of proven applied benefit to the pulp, paper, board, and forest product industries.

    ·       Herman L. Joachim Distinguished Service Award - recognizes an individual that has exhibited exemplary leadership which has significantly contributed to the advancement of TAPPI.

    ·       Paul W. Magnabosco Outstanding Local Section Member Award - was established to recognize an individual whose outstanding leadership and exceptional service to one or more Local Sections has resulted in significant and demonstrable benefits to members.

    ·       TAPPI PIMA Executive of the Year Award - is presented to senior-level executives in the tissue, pulp, paper, or converting industries for excellence in management and outstanding contributions to the industry as a whole.

    ·       TAPPI Fellow – bestowed upon a member of TAPPI for not less than ten years prior to nomination and have contributed meritorious service to the Association and/or to the industry.  The ten years of TAPPI membership may have been in any membership class or combination of classes: member, associate, affiliate, retired, local section, student, or sustaining member representative.

    ·       TAPPI Young Professional of the Year Award - recognizes young professionals employed in the global forest products, pulp, paper, tissue, packaging, and associated industries for their contributions in the following areas: leadership, community service, and problem-solving contributions to scientific or engineering projects. Eligible nominees are age 35 or younger, with no more than 10 years of industry experience, and have been a TAPPI member for a minimum of one year.
